CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN AND FAMILY FUN-DAY

Between 19th and 23rd April in partnership with KHT we held a clean-up week, a number of skips were placed in various roads in our area and by the end of the week approx 150 tonnes of rubbish was removed.
On Saturday 24th, to celebrate we held a family fun- day, and as you can see from the photo's below everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.

Temporary two day Market

The Association along with other organisations in our area have asked the Town Council to consider allowing a 2 day market in Leathers Lane (where the old Library stood) for the period of time it takes for the new shopping precinct to be built and open.
The council thought it was a good idea and said they would discuss it at a further meeting.

Simon Hornby Memorial Appeal

The Association was proud to support the above appeal, the plan to add Simon's name to the Halewood War Memorial in Halewood Churchyard.
It will be a fitting tribute to his sacrifice.was a stunning success.
The association, on your behalf donated a sum of money towards the appeal.
The Dedication and Memorial Service was held on Wednesday 14th April 10  at 11.00am and as expected was attended by many local digniteries from Halewood and the Army, the leader of Knowsley Borough Council Ron Round, the C.E.Officer and the Mayor of Knowsley plus members of the community

The total of the donation made to the "Help the Heros Fund" in Simon's name  was £847.46..  well done to all.   below are some photo's of those who attend the small gathering after the service.
Note the magnificent window in the west wing of the church, its well worth a visit to see it in all its spleander.

Knowsley Community Messaging

This is about passing information to the KNOWSLEY COMMUNITY about Crime Alerts and giving advice on how people can keep themselves safe.  It also extends to older vunerable peoplewithin our communities and was used extensively during the recent bad weather when advice and updates re-council services were passed on.
The system is used for witness and information appeals as well as highlighting and promoting Community events.   It also supports the Justice Seen Justice Done strategy when convictions or sentences of local offenders are highlighted to communities and the work of the Safer Knowsley Partnership.
This system also provides a means for the community to pass information back not just to the police but also council services.
You can access a form by clicking on the download file above and taking a copy of the application form which appears on your screen, completing it and handing it in to the police station in Leathers Lane or asking your local C.P.S.Officer to hand it in for you.
